Evening Programs Individual and group presentations by visiting artists are encouraged. To enrich their experience of place, Red Cinder arranges to have them meet local artists and brings in guest speakers to talk about physical, cultural, and historical aspects of the Big Island. Programs may include astronomy, geology, archeology, natural history, and Hawaiian arts.

Transportation Artists are responsible for their own air travel and ground transportation on the Big Island. Shuttle transportation from airports to Red Cinder can be arranged. (See Location.)

Application processing fee of $25 for each artist should be enclosed.

Application deadlines are currently flexible. Red Cinder also has an individual residency program called Educational Guest Stays. This program is no more than two weeks in length. Artists can appy using the same application form as the group residency program. Contact us for more information on this program.
